AT LONG LAST: a Wine and Food Society sake dinner with a talented chef and great sake on an ironclad date. The event will take place on Sunday, the 31st of July, 4 p.m. at the Apelian residence in West Boylston, MA – 26 Lost Oak Rd (508 835 4779). Chef Kenzo will prepare a masterpiece dinner for us.
We have a great menu featuring six courses with sakes chosen by fellow member Lloyd Foster, who created the successful sake program at Classic Wine Imports and has visited brewers and breweries small and large in the US and in Japan. He has hosted numerous sake dinners and taught classes on the subject around New England.
Join us in the classically elegant Ballroom of the Chilton Club of Boston on Friday, April 8, at 6:30 in the evening as we work our way around France experiencing delicious foods and wines from Bordeaux, Brittany, Burgundy, Champagne, Corsica, Languedoc and Provence.
Considered the leading portrait painter of his generation, John Singer Sargent is one of our country’s most celebrated artists. Born to American parents in Italy, Sargent spent most of his life traveling and painting abroad. His first solo exhibition was in 1888 at Boston’s St. Botolph Club.
One-hundred-twenty-seven years later, the Wine and Food Society of Boston will gather in the same club for a special evening celebrating Sargent’s life through food and art. Chef Brad Hall will present six courses, inspired by Sargent’s time in France, Spain, Boston, Switzerland, and beyond. Each course has been carefully paired with matching wines, and a painting from Sargent’s life.
